elk hunting

Bill Strange

Kurt,

While most folks would likely rather forget their first attempts at elk hunting, mine was a resounding success. I was paired up with Trent Lister, a great guide who worked very well with the others in planning each day’s adventure. Another great match was Jake, a sure-footed, barrel-chested wilderness hunting horse, and yet gentle enough for my kids to ride. Trent’s efforts were particularly visible on the third day of the hunt, when his skill and hard work put me in a prime position to take a nice bull. A miscalculation on my part caused an embarrassing miss, but it was nonetheless a day to remember. He, along with each member of your team, was extremely supportive of the efforts and needs of all the hunters in camp. Your facilities were nothing short of amazing. Miles into the backcountry, your camp was a warm vision of home each night after a tiring hunt. Hot and cold running water, including a nice shower setup, tents heated with wood stoves, and meals I’d be grateful for even back at home. All in all, you are providing a memorable wilderness hunting experience. I certainly intend to be on your list for 2009, and I encourage you to use my name as a reference as you see fit.

Many thanks,
Bill Strange
